Things not to do ❌
- Do not pose as a Pariti employee - Pretending to be a Pariti employee would be misleading and construed as misrepresentation. You can inform prospects that you are a part of the Pariti talent referrer network and help startups find quality talent.
- Do not publicly mention the company name or tag them in LinkedIn posts regarding jobs some roles are somewhat sensitive, but we entrust you with the details because you are part of our exclusive referrer community. (e.g., instead of saying [COMPANY NAME] is hiring a Product Manager, say instead: A large start-up based in Kenya is hiring for a Product Manager)
- Do not ‘headhunt’ candidates from the company looking to hire - these candidates are already known to the company, and you will not get a referral bonus for these (e.g., we have had instances where Company X employees are contacted about roles at Company X). Always check the prospects current company before making a referral.
- Do not inflate the salary on offer - the salary range is exactly that, typically the real salary will fall somewhere between the lower and upper range - if you only tell the candidate the upper range, there might be issues later on when the candidate receives a lower than expected offer
- Do not headhunt from other companies on the Pariti job board - As a referrer in the Pariti talent network, it is important to respect the relationships we have established with companies who trust us to advertise their job openings. To maintain integrity and foster positive partnerships, please refrain from actively headhunting candidates who are currently employed by companies listed on our job board.
Things to do ✅
- Focus on quality, not volume - we understand that you are eager to get your referrals across, but try to focus on sharing the highest quality candidates first - the higher the quality of candidates you share, the more perks you get!
- Utilize Non-Negotiables in Job Descriptions as a Guide: When conducting a headhunt, refer to the non-negotiable qualifications and requirements outlined in the job description as a guiding framework. These non-negotiables serve as essential criteria set by the hiring company to ensure a candidate's suitability for the role.
- Conduct Targeted Research: Prioritize thorough research on potential candidates to understand their background, skills, and professional achievements. This knowledge will enable you to tailor your approach and articulate the specific value proposition that your client or company offers.
- Craft Persuasive Outreach Messages: Personalize your outreach messages to make them compelling and relevant to the candidate. Highlight their accomplishments, skills, and how they can contribute to the success of the target company. - Provide Clear and Accurate Information: Deliver accurate and transparent information about the position, the hiring company, and the recruitment process. Candidates should have a clear understanding of the role, responsibilities, compensation, benefits, and any relevant details to make an informed decision.
- Build a Strong Network: Cultivate a robust professional network by connecting with individuals across various industries and roles. Actively engage with industry events, conferences, and online communities to expand your reach and establish relationships with potential candidates.
